In 2016, I made a trip to Europe with my wife. I had never been to Paris and either had my daughter, now living in Europe, so we met there. It was a great trip! We saw many of the sights you’d expect to see in Paris including Notre Dame. We had sat on the steps and admired it while taking a break from our sightseeing. I took so many pictures of Paris including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame,Arc de Triomphe, gardens and streets of the city.
More than anything, I was moved to paint the Notre Dame. I was inspired to paint it and enjoyed reliving the trip through my work. I painted it some time after our return.
And when I saw the news the other day at my home in New York, I was saddened. I remember my trip with fondness and will always remember our break in front of the Notre Dame, admiring its grandeur and steadfastness in a city on the move.

I love the painting, especially that you added the moon. I have no artistic ability, but my mom likes to paint. She did a painting of a garden at night, complete with the moon. The moon added that extra touch to the painting.
