Physical Graffiti: SOLD!

Physical Graffiti is a special piece to me. It was recently sold and shipped to its new home! Having it sold is a bitter-sweet feeling. I’ve talked about Physical Graffiti before, back in 2016, when I did a bit of a face lift to the frame. The journey I took with my art to create Physical Graffiti is important and part of why it is hard to see it go.

Working with wood had taken years of practice, developing my technique, using routers and wood carving tools as well as and broaden my skill with paint. In 1995, that culmination of practiced techniques came to fruition in Physical Graffiti. It took 6 months to create and hung in my home for 23 years.

Physical Graffiti showed me what I was capable of as an artist. It also opened my eyes to the possibilities in wood working. After Physical Graffiti I built two ships by hand, The Titanic and The USS North Carolina.

So I look to the next Physical Graffiti. It will be more than before and I can’t wait to share it with you!
