Brain Salad Surgery

Back onto wood work! I have done this album cover twice already and sold them both. Time to make a new one. And already I am seeing the improvement. Each time I pick up a piece of wood and start carving and sanding, the elements I am after become sharper, clearer and it drives me to get more detail out of the wood.

Take a look here, I tried to get a close up so you can see the level of detail that goes into this album cover even before I am ready to paint.

I originally posted in 2014 on the  Emerson, Lake & Palmer album cover I did. That was the second one but hopefully you will already be able to see the improvements between the two. The first one I did is long ago sold. I’d have to dig through old photos to see if one still exists. But I’ll keep you posted on how this one goes and post a finished product.
